Jump Start Teaching, or simply known as JS, is a vision of husband and wife Steven and Josephine Lay. Because of their desire to cultivate love for learning and excellence amongst the young generation, they started JS Teaching, a professional tuition centre in Berwick. They believe that quality education is vital for every child. With the correct teaching methods and academic support, JS Teaching is confident that they can guide your children in improving their academic performance.

Steven developed the skills and positive attitude towards Maths at a very young age. As a graduate of Bachelor of Education and Commerce at Monash University, he has equipped himself in teaching the young minds how to love Maths by solving one problem at a time! That dedication is reflected in nearly 10 years of experience as a licensed teacher and over 10 years of consistent private tutoring. His expertise also include Business Studies and Humanities. And as the Principal of JS, he is hands on in everything that needs to be done, especially with students' performance and progress.

Josephine, on the other hand, is a self-proclaimed academic development enthusiast. She was a graduate of BA Sociology and acquired units in Master’s of Education. With both her academic background and professional experience as a college instructor, she has developed the passion in pursuing excellence. However, she is the more subtle version of her husband who is a certified geek. As the JS Administrator, she is responsible for all things boring, but important, nonetheless.
